For some individuals, The Woodlands TX is a new and exciting place to live. For others, it's been home for years, even decades. What better way to learn about The Woodlands than from a Realtor who lives and grew up in the area?!?
In early 2000, I moved to The Woodlands as a middle schooler. After 15 years, 5 houses, 4 schools, 3 villages, a couple apartments, and all the new neighbors, I'm happy to tell newcomers all about the luxuries in The Woodlands. For some, the abundant trees may make every intersection look the same. Maybe the different villages are hard to discern. Every Monday for the next 9 weeks, a new village will be higlighted. What a great way to learn about your new home than by a weekly informative blog!?
This week, we will highlight the community amenities. Why not figure out what you can enjoy when living in or visiting The Woodlands?
This can get to be a long list, so let's start at "the front" of The Woodands, and work our way West. When driving down I-45, the most obvious amenity you'll see is The Woodlands Mall. With department stores like Nordstrom, Macys, and Dillards, and boutiques like an eyebrow bar, shaving bar, and Soft Surroundings, everyone in your party will have something to enjoy. There is also an outdoor mall area. This is home to stores like Barnes and Noble, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Urban Outfitters, and Anthropoligie. Looking for date night ideas? There is also a waterway taxi, and dining at The Cheesecake Factory, P.F.Changs, Brio, Luca and Leonardo, and Panera Bread. Also enjoy casual sitting areas for post shopping relaxation!
Don't want to shop, but want other fun entertainment? The waterway is home to bars like The Goose's Acre, Baker Street, Crush, and The Woodlands very own brick oven pizza at Grimaldi's. Want to catch a movie? There is the Tinseltown Theatre near the waterway and Hubbel and Hudson store. Don't want to go far from home for these locations? Live in the brownstones or condos above the retail center!
Across the street from Tinseltown is Market Street. Home to another movie theatre, wine bar, Tommy Bahamas, Jaspers, and boutique retailers, this is a great place for shopping and strolling on a warm spring Saturday. Make sure to stop by at Christmas time for a photo by the Christmas tree! Are you a mother of little ones? Check out the weekly "Baby Boot Camp".
Interested in entertainment, but don't want to shop? Find a concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion, The Woodlands' very own outdoor concert hall. With performers ranging from Journey to Lady Gaga, as well as home to local graduations and 93Q's "A Day In The Country" you'll find a few events to put on your calendar!
Shopping, dining, or concerts, not your style? Maybe squeeze in a few rounds of golf. Have you heard there are 135 rounds of golf just in The Woodlands! Wow! Plenty to enjoy.
Want to work on your fitness? There are many gyms that range from chain gyms like 24 hour fitness, to luxurious VillaSport, and even boutique studios for pilates, yoga and Crossfit. You could try a new gym out every week!
The Woodlands is also home to 202 miles of walking/jogging paths, and 132 forested parks. Want to fish? check out one of our lakes and ponds! There is even a Riva Row Boat House. You can kayak here too! Interested in seeing Koi fish? Visit the koi pond on the waterway!
Looking for something more artistic? Check out the interactive public art located throughout the town!
