Last Night I went to an event called: "The Baby Naming Ceremony" I was invited by one of my Nigerian Clients - This was my first time attending such an occasion/event and I found it be very interesting/ enlightening and very happy to have been invited to be a part of such an occasion. - an event designed not only to formally bestow a name on the infant, blessing of the child and readings from appropriate poems or parts of the bible, but also to get a commitment from the guests to love and care for this child. As with any milestone event - gifts are always acceptable - in this case monetary gifts were offered. I learned a lot from being in attendance at this event - as a Realtor my client base consists of people from all over the world and it is great knowing about and understanding different cultures. I am glad that the Oshins thought enough of me to have invited me.
