The purpose of my blog is to inform and clarify the real estate experience.
Choose a Realtor that is:
1. Honest, Trustworthy, and Straightforward;
2. Listens more than speaks;
3. Focuses on YOU more than their accomplishments. After all, the transaction is about YOU, and YOUR HOME!
4. Available more than unavailable. Your realtor should discuss the method of preferred communication and best times. Appreciate that while we usually have more than one client at a time, we will be responsive to your needs and questions. Discuss a "Plan B" for when offers come in and if you're not available.
5. Realtors run the comps for your specific neighborhood. It's not necessary for a realtor to have sold a home in your neighborhood to do a great job at selling your home. We all have access to and see the same comps. Additionally, we can run all types of reports on your neighborhood, such as average days on market, percentage of selling prices vs. listing prices, and many others. It's about the services our brokerage and we provide, marketing, responsiveness, negotiation skills, and attention to detail that gets your home sold.
6. Will your realtor "go the extra mile" to get your home sold? This includes responding swiftly to inquiries, showing to prospective buyers without a realtor, and holding open houses as agreed between seller and realtor. Is your home just another listing or will your realtor look out for and protect YOUR best interests?
7. Lastly, does your realtor care as if it was her/his own transaction? That's how much care should go into the process.
