1. Look for North/South (or south/north) exposure. No west sun on front or back of home. Best for side with fewest windows to face west.
2. No two-lane or four-way stops leading to or close to the home. This will delay your coming or leaving.
3. No community mailbox close by. It may seem convenient, but think again. How many cars convening at one time in front of your house?
4. No backyard neighbors. If not possible, choose a one story as your backyard neighbor. The further back, the better.
5. Find a home off the main thoroughfare, further into subdivision. It's all about less traffic and privacy!
6. Drive through area several times (day and night) before deciding location. This will give a good read of the neighborhood.
7. Pray for good neighbors! Try to meet the neighbors beforehand. If wanting quiet or neighbors with children, look for toys in the yards or garages.
