Tax statements are out!

Property tax statements have gone out! Did you get yours?

Get ready to protest if you didn't this past year.   I don't know what the statistics are of how many protest, how many actually benefit from it, and how many pay others to do it for them.  But I do know from talking to friends of mine, that not everyone is aware that there are exemptions available and that homeowners benefit from filing for exemptions that they qualify for. 

I protested this year and it made a huge difference!  I also learned quite a bit and will be paying more attention to my account going forward. 

Take time to look into yours and to understand what is going on.  Make sure you have the exemptions that you qualify for. 

Property values are higher than ever and that affects what you pay!
