Falling Into Fall! - Robert Griffith

Falling Into Fall!

Happy Fall everyone! It may not quite feel like it, but today is the official start to the fall season! As some cooler weather is on the horizon this week, you may be excited to get into the spirit of the season. Houston fall weather isn’t quite as chilly as some other parts of the country, however we still have loads of fun fall activities to keep you busy! Of course, one of the main fall activities is football! Between the hometown Houston Texans and Houston Cougars or venturing further out to watch teams like the Texas Aggies or the Baylor Bears, football is always happening! One nice thing about watching football here in Houston is you don’t need a lot of cold weather gear to go tailgate throughout the season!! Pumpkins – and everything surrounding pumpkins – scream fall. Carving pumpkins, painting pumpkins, eating pumpkin flavored everything – you can’t go wrong! A lot of schools will host pumpkin patches and fall festivals locally. Visit Buchanan’s Plants if you’d like to create a fall vibe at your home with foliage, pumpkins or wreaths. For a great day trip you can venture out to Dewberry Farms! They have a huge fall festival running currently, including a Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch! Speaking of screaming, another way to get into the Halloween spirit is watching scary movies! Grab some friends for a movie night binge watching some old classics like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream! If you’re looking for more family friendly options, choose Casper or Hocus Pocus! An annual event many Houstonians look forward to in fall is the Texas Renaissance Festival! There’s tons of different entertainment and themed weekends happening – you can even maximize your fun by camping there! If good food is more your vibe, plan to eat your way through the Houston Italian Festival! This event includes grape stomps, learning to make ravioli, wine tasting as well as tons of delicious Italian food! I’m hungry just thinking about it! Whatever you chose to do to celebrate fall, I hope you enjoy it and have a fabulous time!
