Credit repair is something that anyone can do - for FREE.

Repairing or improving your credit is an ongoing process and not a quick fix.  It takes time (months), some know-how, and a simple budget. . . but where to start?

Steps include:

  • contact the major reporting companies to get an accurate score.  The main three are Euifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
  • If there are any errors, write to the agency and send copies of documented proof.
  • on any credit cards, make more than minimum payments - on time
  • before filing for Bankruptcy, contact https://www.hba.org/services/

If this seems like too much, you can hire someone to be your advocate but make sure you review the Credit Repair Organization Act.

If things go south, you can contact the State Attorney General or the Federal Trade Commission.
