This morning Mr. Furst is working, and I have "lots" of things to do, and sitting here at my computer looking out through the 3 sets of large windows  into my back yard there is a "bird bath".  I bought it several years ago as a "beautiful yard ornament".  However, the last few weeks as I've been at the computer, something wonderful has  been happening.  I've noticed that the birds actually "do bathe".  Amazing.  First, the Blue Jays come out to be sure the cats are no where to be found.  Then the Mockingbirds come.  Then, yesterday, the Redheaded Woodpeckers came out.  This morning I have the sprinkler on and its also sprinkling the bird bath.  The Blue Jays really have fun with this "sprinkler".  They do what I call the WWII Bomb Dives, down, then up, never touching the ground, never going much more over the top of the flow of water from the sprinkler.  It is truly amazing to watch.  Then they will get a drink, open up their wings, let the water hit them, and then walk in the "bath" and just wiggle and waddle and just get "all wet".  As much as I love birds, I've never seen such activity.  OMG, there is a Hummingbird now!  Dark Green in color, just fluttering about.  Now the Blue Jays are back!  They really dominate.  Can you imagine watching this and working too?  I am in awe of these lovely creatures.  I've heard the Blue Jays are the "policemen" of the bird kingdom.  My friend, Gloria Hart, knows all about them.  They are colored like the Blue Uniformed Policemen, may be something to that.
Take time to watch the Birds and to see the things Our Father has given you.
