Houston, We Have a Real Problem

Houstonians,
Please wake up.  Do you realize Mayor Bill White is term limited?  Yes, he will no longer be our Mayor.  Houston is about to elect a new Mayor.  Did you know "they" are predicting that only about 250K folks will select/elect our new Mayor?  Have you heard the saying "Freedom is Not Free"?  Do folks realize that we have soldiers fighting/dying so that we have the freedom to vote?  Do folks understand how precious it is to have a voice in your City (and State and National) elections?  It so disturbs me that so few folks will take advantage of this precious right. 

I encourage you today to speak to your friends/family/co-workers and encourage each other to go out and vote. 

I personally have had the opportunity to "interview" each of the candidates for Mayor and City Council.  In my humble opinion, Gene Locke possesses all the "right" qualities and integrity to lead Houston into the next generation. 
Early voting will continue through 10-30-09.  I humbly and emphatically encourage you to exercise your right and your obligation to VOTE.
