Houston Real Estate Observer website launched

The Houston Real Estate Observer will be another place for Houston residents to relevant and local real estate news.Mark W. Martin, the principal broker for local Houston real estate firm 2M Realty, has recently launched a new website, the Houston Real Estate Observer (HREO). This site will allow real estate agents from throughout Houston area to voice their opinions about what is going on in the local real estate market. The website - which is free of charge for both readers and contributors - will provide a repository of information from throughout the industry, helping people stay abreast of the quickly changing Houston area real estate markets. The site's content will be created by a number Houston real estate agents, mortgage brokers, lawyers and other industry experts, and is designed to give a broader view than the multitude of generic real estate reports that come out every month. "Seemingly, most sources of Houston real estate news and perspectives have become challenged by the dilution of information on the Internet," said Martin, who also serves as the editor of the Houston Real Estate Observer. "Our goal with HREO is to broaden the current perspective and provide a new, company-neutral voice for the Houston market where industry experts in various roles can be heard." HREO is designed to be company-neutral and provide a unique outlet for thought leadership perspectives on the real estate profession. Marketing themes and self-promotion are prohibited in the articles. However, contributors will have the opportunity to briefly discuss their company and credentials, and link to their professional affiliation’s website in a short biography featured at the end of each article. Contributors will also have the opportunity to provide a more comprehensive description of themselves and their expertise in the Contributor section of the website. Real estate agents or other industry professionals who are interested in either asking questions for the site's columnists or becoming a writer themselves can go to the site and click on the contributor section. The website was developed in cooperation with the Boston Real Estate Observer, and looks to build off of the success of that site. Organizers also hope to expand the concept further in Texas in the near future. Martin says that as the website enjoys success in the coming months, they hope to launch similar sites in many other Texas cities, including Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio.
