Why? Rest assure the representatives work for the BUILDER.  Nothing is absolutely FREE. Sure they pay for your closing, give you some 2 inch blinds, a refrigerator, tiled entryway  finance your loan... but at what cost? There are many variables and no builder builds the same way so there is a lot of room for error.
