Deposit at least half on all gift money into a savings or toward paying off smaller debts. People get money and monetary gifts and blow it on a bunch or NOTHING. Be wiser with that FREE money!

Open a Christmas Club or holiday account at your bank. These type of accounts allow you to make deposits starting in December or January of the year. Money accumulates all year and is payable in November in time for the holiday season. YOU are PROHIBITED from making withdrawals during the year without closing your account, this helps reduce the temptations to take out.

Set aside all dollar bills that you receive or have left at the end of your day. Last year, I accumulated close to $200 by doing this last year.

Be a "serial saver" each time you break a large bill, check the serial numbers on the $1.00 bills you receive in change to see if any of the bills begin with your initials. Set them aside in your wallet and at the end of the day put them in an envelope that get deposited into savings at the end of the month.

Consider yourself a creditor, write a check to yourself when you are paying your creditors or utilities. Start out with $5 or $10 and build from there. The important thing is to make it a habit of contributing to your savings.

CHECK YOUR MOTIVES BEHIND ALL YOUR SPENDING! SMALL AMOUNTS ADD UP OVER TIME, SO PRACTICE VIGILANCE AND CONSISTENCY.
