Thanks to Becky Shannonhouse, Director of Relocation and Realtor Relations, with The Woodlands Development Company I had the fortunate opportunity to visit and tour the brand new elementary in The Village of Creekside Park, The Woodlands, TX.

Jeanine Deyoe, principal, greeted a small group of local Realtors to give us the grand tour of her new school.  Wow….VERY Impressive!!  Some of the key highlights:

·         This is a K-6 school; Tomball ISD.

·         Current enrollment = 270 students (capacity 730); approximately 22 students per class.

·         School begins at 8:40 AM and they serve both lunch and breakfast.  During lunch there is a special area of the lunch room where parents can join their children for lunch….what a treat!

·         Safety is a top priority – all teachers carry handheld radios, there are security cameras throughout the school and grounds. There is a double layer of doors at the entrance for extra security. All parents and visitors to the school must go through the office to check in by scanning their driver’s license and given a special name badge. They do a search of sex offender data base to make sure all visitors are safe.

·         They offer Gifted & Talented programs, ESL with supported instruction, computer labs with HP computers, science labs, indoor gym for PE with special padded flooring and top notch equipment, lockers for 5/6th graders, expanded offering of books in the library and much more.

Mrs. Deyoe is passionate about the school, students and staff.  While on the tour we visited different classrooms for all grades – everything was spotless, the children were happy and it felt like a wonderful environment.  This just adds to the long list of reasons why The Woodlands remains a top rated community and highly desired by so many.
