Montgomery County home sales continued their year over year rise in May, offering good momentum into the traditional Summer sales season. There is still time to list your home!
According to statistics from the Houston Association of Realtors MLS, single family home sales for May 2019 totaled 1091, up 2.25 percent from the 1,067 home sales recorded May 2018. May sales reflected the 2nd monthly rise in sales so far this year compared with last and continued to put overall sales in positive territory.
Sales in three of the four regions in Montgomery County likewise beat last year, with The Woodlands, Conroe/Lake Conroe and Southeast Montgomery County all besting last May. Some other stats to consider:
-- Median prices rose 0.82 percent in May compared with last year
-- Cumulative Days on Market dropped 3.06 percent to 95 days
-- Months of Inventory rose 2.7 percent to 3.8 months, meaning we remain in a sellers market, traditionally defined as less than 6 months of inventory remaining to sell.
We are in the traditional summer sales season; for those contemplating selling their homes, NOW is the time to list. Want to know more? Read more here
