One of the biggest reasons families move to Katy is for the schools. Katy ISD has built a reputation as one of the strongest districts in Texas, and for good reason — the district consistently ranks among the top in the Houston area, with high test scores, strong teacher support, and a wide range of programs for students.

If you’re thinking about buying a home here, knowing which elementary schools stand out can help you decide where to focus your search. While every Katy ISD school offers a solid education, a few campuses consistently rise to the top.

Standout Elementary Schools in Katy ISD

  • Pattison Elementary – Known for academic excellence, Pattison is one of the few schools where students have mastered reading, math, and science on the state STAAR test. Families here rave about the supportive teachers and strong community.

  • Stanley Elementary – Often ranked among the highest-scoring campuses in the district, Stanley offers a strong academic program and a great sense of school pride.

  • Kilpatrick Elementary – Another top performer, Kilpatrick has a history of high reading and math proficiency and is a favorite for families looking in the Cinco Ranch area.

  • Griffin Elementary – With strong performance in both math and reading, Griffin continues to stand out as one of Katy ISD’s best options.

  • Other Great Options – Jenks, Alexander, WoodCreek, Hayes, Wilson, Rylander, and Campbell Elementary also earn consistently strong marks and are worth considering when looking at neighborhoods.

What to Keep in Mind

While test scores and rankings are helpful, they don’t tell the full story. Families often also consider:

  • Class sizes and teacher experience

  • Parent involvement and community atmosphere

  • Enrichment programs like STEM, fine arts, and extracurriculars

  • How well the school supports different learning needs

No matter where you land in Katy ISD, your kids will have access to strong schools — but if you’re aiming for the very top, Pattison, Stanley, Kilpatrick, and Griffin are excellent places to start your search.

When I work with families moving to Katy, I always suggest we look at both the school ratings and the surrounding neighborhoods. The right match often comes down to finding a home you love in a community where your family feels comfortable and supported.
