If you’re thinking about moving to the Pearland or Alvin area, first off great choice. This part of town is growing like crazy, and for good reason. You get that small-town feel with modern amenities, beautiful new homes, and easy access to Houston. But with so many new communities popping up, it can be hard to figure out which one’s actually the right fit for you and your family.

As someone who helps people relocate here every day, I’ve toured pretty much every neighborhood in the area and there are three that always stand out: Pomona, Meridiana, and Del Bello Lakes.

Here’s why I love them (and why my clients do too):

Pomona: Where Lifestyle Meets Luxury

Just off Hwy 288, near Pearland and Manvel
Served by Alvin ISD

Pomona is one of those neighborhoods that just feels special the moment you drive in. It’s beautifully designed, with miles of walking trails, natural wetlands, and tons of trees. The homes are absolutely stunning built by top-tier builders like Highland and Coventry and there's a clear focus on lifestyle here.

Families especially love The Hive, which is a super fun play zone just for residents. There’s also a resort-style pool, fitness center, community garden, and a gorgeous lakeside pavilion perfect for neighborhood events.

And the best part? You’re just minutes from medical centers, shopping, and even downtown Houston. It’s a great choice for families and professionals who want luxury living without sacrificing convenience.

Meridiana: Designed for Families and Learning

South of Hwy 6, east of 288
Alvin ISD, with on-site schools like Meridiana Elementary

If education and community are high on your priority list, you’ll want to take a serious look at Meridiana. This master-planned community is built with learning and family life in mind from the STEM-focused schools to the outdoor science park, even the playgrounds are designed to spark curiosity and exploration.

You’ll also find resort-style pools, a splash pad, a fitness center, lakes, trails, and even a lakeside café where you can grab a coffee and meet up with friends. I always say it’s one of the few places where you can go kayaking and then walk your kids to school without leaving the neighborhood.

Meridiana is perfect for families looking for strong schools, a tight-knit community, and plenty of things to do right at home.

Del Bello Lakes: Peaceful, Spacious, and Up-and-Coming

In Alvin, near Hwy 6 and Hwy 35
Also served by Alvin ISD

Del Bello Lakes is still a bit of a hidden gem but not for long. This newer neighborhood offers larger lots, beautiful lakes and trails, and a quieter atmosphere that many buyers are craving. It’s great if you want more space, a little more peace, and a newer home without feeling like you're stacked right on top of your neighbors.

There’s a splash pad, playgrounds, and a large clubhouse for events, plus the homes are priced competitively especially considering how much square footage you get. And with Alvin growing fast, the value here is only going up.

It’s a great option for buyers who want a peaceful retreat that’s still close to Pearland and Houston.

So, Which Neighborhood Is Right for You?

  • Want an established, upscale vibe with tons of amenities? Go with Pomona

  • Need top schools and a true family-friendly environment? You’ll love Meridiana

  • Prefer more space, affordability, and quiet charm? Check out Del Bello Lakes

No matter which one you choose, you really can’t go wrong. These are three of the best neighborhoods in the Pearland and Alvin area and I’d be happy to show you around and help you find the one that fits your lifestyle best.
