Many times I have folks ask me to show them homes throughout the Houston area. Showing homes is what I do and so it's more of a discovery process for everyone involved.
Even though I have a good idea of what to expect when I'm in a certain location I find it's best to preview homes before showing them to my clients because it gives you more knowledge to share with them.
Surprises are great when you come home and it's your birthday, but finding unusual weird surprises on a property doesn't help your credibility.
Buyers demand tons of information from you when showing them homes so be prepared well in advance and anticipate questions from left field.
Make sure you follow up quickly to any and all questions about a home your client may have.
Asking questions is a great way to find out if a home is a good fit or not and many times when I'm pointing out various amenities about a home I remember to slow down a little bit to allow my client to absorb the details.
Sometimes I have many homes to show and I get in a bit of a rush to get through all of them before the keybox cutoff time expires on us.
I try to slow down and let the home buying process be fun and entertaining. Once we do find "The Home of Their Dreams" my work just begins with the offer and negotiations.
