Kingdom Preparatory Academy (KPA) is a classical, Christian,collaborative school, organized to establish a partnership withparents. KPA equips students for life by promoting godly character,building excellence in academics, and encouraging self-disciplineand motivation. We seek to develop the whole child academically,spiritually, emotionally, and physically through an educationalformat utilizing both trained classroom instruction andindividualized parent involvement.KPAs Grammar School (Pre-Kthrough 5th grade) students attend classes on Mondays andWednesdays, while students in the Schools of Logic & Rhetoric (6ththrough 12th grades) attend classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, andFridays. Alternate days are spent in the satellite classroom athome, working on school-directed studies with the guidance of theirparents. Grammar School K-5 students also have an option to attendenrichment classes on Fridays.Kingdom Preparatory Academy wasestablished to provide a new approach to education in the city ofLubbock and the surrounding West Texas area. KPA was designed onthe foundation of the Christian University-Model School (UMS),which takes the best aspects of traditional, full-time public andprivate schools, as well as home schools, and molds them into onemodel. At KPA, parents and teachers work together to cultivate ineach student a life-long love of learning and a pursuit of moraland academic excellence for the purpose of bringing glory to Godalone.Kingdom Preparatory Academy originated in January 2000, whenseven families, led by Jared and Dana Squires, began exploring theidea of bringing a new concept in education to Lubbock, Texas.These families desired a Christian-based education for theirchildren but still wanted to be an integral part of their schoolday. The University-Model School appeared to be the ideal fit toaccomplish the families goals, and work began on the developmentof the school immediately.
