Hello BBBB Friend,

It was a slow week for new listings, so I have a short list for you today featuring just 3 homes. Remember to explore price reductions, new contracts, and final sales for homes that are Still on My List. Click HERE to see all the changes.

DO ELECTIONS IMPACT THE REAL ESTATE MARKET?

With the election upon us, many wonder how elections impact the real estate market. Historically, home sales can experience a temporary slowdown as both buyers and sellers pause, waiting for political clarity. Part of this decline is seasonal—October and early November often see a natural dip in activity. However, BTIG Research compared election and non-election years since 1963 and found that fall sales dropped more sharply in election years (15%) versus non-election years (9.8%). The good news? Markets usually bounce back quickly. Analyses of elections since 1993 show a post-election rebound in 9 out of the last 11 election cycles (with 1981 and 1989 as exceptions). For more insights, my post, “Q&A: How Do Presidential Elections Impact the Housing Market?” provides details on interest rates and buyer confidence, while another post explores why "home sales typically rebound after election season". Dive deeper into these trends by reading more here and here.
