Hello BBBB Friend,
As a skeptic and avid number cruncher, I decided to verify the numbers myself after reading a Houston Chronicle article last Wednesday. The piece quoted a report from Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar that pointed to a staggering 40% jump in median home prices across Texas from 2019 to 2023. Intrigued and a bit dubious, I pulled up the statistics for Houston Heights, where we saw a less dramatic increase of 26.81% over the same period. Here's the yearly breakdown: a 3.52% rise from 2019 to 2020, a 5.83% climb the next year, a jump of 9.09% from 2021 to 2022, and a 6.10% increase the following year. This exercise really underscores the unique nature of each local real estate market and even neighborhoods.
