BY THE NUMBERS FOR JULY 2024
The Heights real estate market had a tough summer in 2024, dealing with two big weather challenges: a Derecho in May and Hurricane Beryl in July. These back-to-back storms definitely shook things up, with the Derecho likely pushing some sales into July and Hurricane Beryl causing even more disruptions. But even with all this, the Heights bounced back strong. Single-family home sales shot up by 22.4% from last year, way ahead of the 1.8% growth in the rest of Houston. This surge likely came from transactions delayed by the Derecho and the community's quick recovery after Beryl.
The prices in the Heights also tell the story of a strong neighborhood. The average sales price jumped by 14.6% to $887,878, and the median price went up by 10.7% to $775,000--both much higher than the overall market in Houston. These numbers show that, despite everything, people still really want to live in the Heights and are willing to pay a premium to do so.

Have a great week, and,
Let's look at houses or talk about selling yours!
