I believe to be a real success in life, the things you say you believe in must be congruent with what you do. Faith first, Family, Career, and Community are the four walls I build my life on. It's a privilege to help my clients and customers not only find a place to live but a place they can create their best lives in, too. A home is the largest investment of most people's lives and carries a huge responsibility I don't take lightly.
I am a native Houstonian and have lived in the area all my life. I attended Clear Creek High School and ALSOM Bible College, graduating with a degree in Leadership and Biblical Studies. I have even gotten my Real Estate License not once, but twice! First in my early twenties, I worked as a corporate relocation specialist focused on rental and commercial properties in Houston and the surrounding areas and again in my fifties as my "Do something you love" career focusing on Residential Real Estate Sales and Leasing.
I find the whole process of selling property to be fascinating and helping my clients through that process to be so rewarding. The journey from 'JUST LOOKING" and contemplating a purchase/sale to signing the final paperwork at the title company can be a path with many turns, and you need someone with knowledge and access to good information. My innate desire to help people causes me to thrive in that environment. Staying on the cutting edge of technology and industry best practices is one of my favorite pastimes, too. It's safe to say I'm a little obsessed in a good way.
Real Estate is more than a job to me, it facilitates my calling. Not only do I love being a Realtor, mentoring and helping young women to live their best lives is also my passion. To that end, I love working to help end human trafficking in Houston and the surrounding areas. Like most people I thought trafficking was something that either happened overseas or was brought to us from countries with terrible economies and few jobs, not in my beloved H-town. When a trafficker reached out to my daughter online I became aware that something terrible was happening and it wasn't a problem far away, but close to home. As I researched the issue I felt so lucky that my daughter spoke up about this attempt before anything could happen to her. The more I learned about how traffickers were targeting young girls in even the most affluent areas the more determined I became to somehow make a difference.
I am most proud of the work I do as an Intervention Site Leader for Elijah Rising. https://www.ElijahRising.org is a leading force in the abolition and social justice movement today. I am fortunate to get to lead a team who coordinate and organize several activities and numerous volunteers who are passionate to change the landscape of our city. As a realtor, I have committed at least 20% of all my commissions to churches and organizations that also have the mission to provide rescue and restorative care to survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. As of March 2019, I had donated roughly $10,000.00 to causes that effect our community. My husband and I are so blessed to be in a position to contribute to causes close to our hearts. It's exciting to devote my work as a Realtor to help free people from oppression. Having a job that helps me pursue my passions and makes a difference, only God could have coordinate that so well! I am blessed to be living a life of purpose and invite you to join me.
