“Shelly Scanlin came to us highly recommended and yet managed to exceed expectations. A good realtor quickly perceives your needs and understands the market enough to to identify potential homes. We made the task difficult by expressing interest in neighborhoods all over Houston at a wide range of price points and styles. Shelly made it look easy. No matter the neighborhood, she grasped the local nuances and described benefits and drawbacks. When we toured a home that didn't fit our needs, she was the first to say we could do better and should keep looking. We were picky, but she was right there with us. Plenty of agents can help buyers find a house. The real test is whether the realtor can advocate for you in the the face of adversity. We unfortunately found ourself under contract with a seller that wasn't living up to the bargain. With the wrong realtor (especially as first-time home-buyers), we would have been overwhelmed and closed on the house; with the wrong realtor, we would have felt uncomfortable in our new home and that we had been taken advantage of. Shelly, however, is the right realtor. She was truly our agent and, more importantly, Shelly was our advocate. We fought the battle we had to fight, got the outcome we deserved, and moved on with our search for the right home. Shelly is the reason we got the home we wanted in the neighborhood we wanted at the price we wanted. After the first house fell through, we found our dream home in the neighborhood we'd preferred all along. We put pressure on everyone—Shelly included—by asking to close in 30 days. But with Shelly shepherding the process, we closed even quicker. When we needed a document sent to the lender, Shelly identified it and sent it along immediately. When we needed documentation of repairs, Shelly coordinated with the seller to promptly obtain it. We closed in 26 days. As shown by our experience Shelly will handle any transaction with poise, integrity, and expertise. We highly recommen”
