What do you think about Builders auctioning new homes?

I took one of my clients to a builders location on getting there, the builders representative us they no longer sell the individual buyers only sells new homes through auction bidding.
Is that appropriate for a home’s?

I recently heard about a builder that will actually start doing this. Say it ain't so, however, what else wouldn't be changing in this ever evolving world to include our environment of real estate. Having the ability to sell new construction in any capacity is the builder's goal. Having the ability to purchase new construction should certainly be of benefit to a new purchaser. Perhaps builders are wanting to increase or make up profits for times when supplies and tools and appliances double what they are paying and these items are in demand and or the pricing increases dramatically. As long as the quality of the workmanship is there, if the time of the build process can be about the same or no longer than it already is, if the pricing remains reasonable, this auctioning could work. However, as with any auction process and the current Houston housing market, we shall see if this trend will stay or go. Time and totals will tell.
