The most difficult part of being a realtor for about a year is promoting myself and finding new clients. Any suggestions and/or tips you would be willing to share would be much appreciated!

Informed your family members, friends and people in your contact list that you are a realtor. Let them know that if they are looking for lease/buy/sell their properties or any one they know and ask them to refer to you!

Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn....I even ran free ads on Craigslist to get started. BUUUUUT....THE BEST WAY TO GET SALES THE SOONEST IS OPEN HOUSES. You can make a six figure income from just open houses done right.

Congratulations and welcome to the family. Don’t be intimidated because you are new. Definitely let your sphere know you are a realtor. Wear your ID badge everywhere...even grocery shopping. Start conversations. Be a source of information...where you live, NextDoor, etc. Open houses for other realtors. Ask to tag along with fellow agents in your office.

You don’t want to go to any brokerage they charges you fees. You are new and it could be months before you get a pay check . You need a brokerage that does not charge any fees. A brokerage that will let you do open houses on the company listings and a company that will double check your paper work before you send it, and for no charge . Clissold Properties might be a good fit. You work from home but you can shadow the top producers. You are taught how to be a top producer. They pay for your start up. Photos , Business cards, car decals, and provide open house signs and Supra’s. The marketing kings in Northwest HOUSTON. Call for an appointment and you can see why we are different. We train you for free. We also don’t take any fees out of your check . Your rate doesn’t start over every year. Let’s talk...

Christina, congratulations on getting your real estate license! Now it is time to let everyone know your new career move. Host Open Houses, Find a geographical area to farm with postcards, newsletters, etc. Some inexpensive ideas is to post on your social media pages what you do now. A video would be fantastic. Do a live video around your new office or in a Park. Create a FB business page and invite your friends list to like it. Be sure to always provide something of value to keep them coming back. Call your family and friends you haven’t spoken to in awhile to check in. It’s a perfect time to use the FORD Script! Join your Chamber or Rotary Club. Give a business card to people where you frequent like your hairdresser, gas station attendant, dry cleaners, grocery store checker, etc. Just start talking. Visit your neighbors in your subdivision just to say hello and let them know what you do. Offer to send them a free CMA of their home values in case they are thinking of protesting their taxes. Tip: Don’t try to do it all or you will get overwhelmed. Pick a few things that you can master and do it well. Your Brokerage should be a big help. Good luck! I hope we get to work together soon!

Offer to do open houses for other realtors in your brokerage or even other realtors that are listing homes in the area you feel most comfortable at. Always have your business card ready and pass around with time you will be surprised that people start asking you for your help. Post on your personal social media all you are doing to serve clients better and also stuff about your personal life (mix it up). Hope this helps!

Christina,
Congratulations! So first what I did was post on social media that I was a Realtor! Then I started reaching out to new builders asking if I can market their homes. I reached out to all banks in my area to see if they had a preferred agent for their lending division. I created flyers for door handles and went to different areas and hung on apt communities doors. Join groups on social media sites and get your name and face out their. I didn’t have family to reach out in Houston but that is something you want to do is see if your family is looking to buy or sell. Asked family to put flyers at their place of work or business cards. Let them be your market. Good Luck

Let your family and sphere of influence to know what you do! You can not be a secret agent. Go to networking events, new home builder events and make your self known. Host open houses for other agents. Most importantly, get the proper training by getting on a team!!!
