I travel to Europe often since my family lives in Southern Europe. How can I maximize my connections there and structure international deals?

I have an interesting and fun approach as to how to get involved in International Real Estate. The answer is : Travel a lot ! Yes that is the answer ! Take some time when you are sightseeing and stop by Real Estate Agencies and introduce yourselves, take some time to meet the Realtors ask questions, ask if they would be interested in partnering with you for referals etc and dont forget to Leaeve a business card and a big smile behind. You will be amazed of the results ! Happy Travels !

Take a class with a designation for international real estate, it is CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist). There is a class later this month at HAR Central. It is an investment but should be worth your time and money if you are serious about international real estate. I would be advised.

Contact HAR and join the International group and make sure to get some education on it.

It looks like the consumer (seller and buyer) may not be getting the best deal through consolidation. With the elimination of competing companies, there will be fewer choices in real estate companies.

Well this is easy. Fiabci-USA Houston Council can be a tremendous resource for you in Europe. We are located in 65 countries world wide and if you need to speak to a specialist in your country let us know and we will coordinate this for you. HAR is a member of FIABCI Houston which is the federation of international real estate and official consultative body to the United Nations. The CIPS designation will give you the basic tools and FIABCI will actually give you the connections.

Hi Nicole,
There is a great program that HAR has that deals with this matter. It is called CIPS, and it is also a realtor designation.

Hi Nicole,
As a European living in Houston, I can help you with your real estate purchase in Europe. I have owned real estate there myself and I have a large network of professionals that can help you with loans and tax optimization as needed.
European law is generally very clear and protects the buyer, some countries have created great tax breaks to encourage foreigners to buy second homes there.
Best,

HAR has an International Advisory Group. The International Advisory Group coordinates association activities such as educational programs and networking business opportunities that relate to the international real estate industry.
Online sign up for the 2014 HAR advisory groups begins in the Fall. Be on the lookout for the "Get Involved" announcements for committee sign up after September.
