You might find this link helpful. It's the part of the property code that addresses HOA information.

Good Morning Duy,

It is very important to have subdivision information when buying a home. First and foremost, you'll learn how much annual Home Owners Association (HOA) dues will cost. Good Morning Duy,

It is very important to have subdivision information when buying a home. First and foremost, you'll learn how much annual Home Owners Association (HOA) dues will cost. Plus, you'll learn what your obligations are as a member of that neighborhood. For example, some HOA's require a minimum number of trees in the front yard. Other HOA's limit the number of vehicles that can be in a driveway. The HOA is also the group responsible for maintaining the neighborhood's amenities such as swimming areas and community rooms. So, you'll want to make sure there's an active one in the neighborhood you choose.

Enjoy your day, Duy!

If you are not familiar with living in a subdivision with an active HOA, then it is very helpful to have the deed restrictions and convenants in advance.
Your Realtor will help you with getting the answers to your specific questions about deed restrictions.
In TX we have an addendum to the contract that addresses all aspects of the subject of the HOA and the buyer's obtaining the subdivision information.

Hope this helps.
