How did you get "into" international real estate?

I'd like to be more involved with international relocation to the United States/Texas from abroad. Do any of you have advice for someone who would like to get involved with these types of transactions? I used to live in Peru, Germany and Brazil and I really enjoy dealing with the international crowd. Thanks!

Start by getting your CIPS.

I would say, spend time In the galleria area. It's extremely diverse. Meet and greet. Other than that, grind your social media with hashtags.

I got involved when I was asked to create foreign-language interactive floor plans for my clients. We've translated and typeset the floor plans and amenities text in both Farsi and Chinese (samples are on my website). Not only did doing so boost the range of the marketing for that individual property (one buyer of a luxury condo was actually located in Hong Kong), it expands the business circle of the agents who have since picked up additional clients wanting the same level of global marketing for their luxury properties.

Four things to do to get started. One and two would be to register to take the CIPS courses and the At Home With Diversity course. These are often offered in Houston. But, to get a jump on expanding your network with other Realtors who also want to practice international real estate brokerage, consider registering for these courses being offered in other states or in other countries, and travel to explore these other places and take the courses at the same time. (^_^) Three, also, join FIABCI http://www.fiabci.org/ and begin to reach out to other members of this International Federation of Realtors. Get involved with our local FIABCI Network. And fourth, set up your profile on Proxio, https://www.proxio.com/ , and upload your listings to this site, start to reach out to make connections to other Realtors on Proxio. These are four good steps to take to enter into the world of international real estate. Hope this helps you. I wish you much success!! vm

I lived internationally for almost 12 years and that experience moved me to work with international buyers. I got my AHWD designation and then CIPS to add to my arsenal. This was enough for me to start Imagine Realty International in 2009. This year ENGEL & VÖLKERS asked us to represent their brand in Katy and Memorial area. ENGEL & VÖLKERS KATY started yesterday officially June 1, 2018. If your not familiar with the brand that's OK I wasn't either but it is the #1 International Luxury brand world wide with over 800 shops and is 30 years old, they came to the USA only 4 years ago and started in New York City, this year there will be a total so far of 7 in Texas...you may not know them now but you will.
