How to setup a search with push notifications?

I can save a search as a consumer that will do push notifications for new listings, but on the consumer side I cannot exclude subdivisions which is an important criteria for my search! When I do it through MLS, there is no option for push notifications! On the app for iOS if you try to setup a search with an excluded subdivision you get an error and the search will not run. On the desktop version through a browser, it will run a search with the excluded subdivisions but it just doesn't work since it apparently does not recognize the exclamation mark as an exclusion and as such it limits the search to show ONLY the subdivisions entered (that you wanted excluded!)

Addtional Details:
  • I should have clarified. I am not asking this question for my clients. The consumer version of the app does have a push feature for the clients, it's just more cumbersome as an agent because you really can not refine the search criteria. I would like to know anytime I get an alert, it is for a property that matches the description of a home I am looking for. As an agent, I would like to be alerted immediately with a push notification when there is a new listing. If I were to pick up my phone or go on my computer for every incoming email, I would never get anything done! Currently, I am looking to buy a home for myself, and I would love this feature for myself, but I would love to receive a push notification for all new listings, so regardless of whether I am in my office, spending the day showing homes, or relaxing after dinner on my couch, I would be notified about the listing immediately and can be proactive with my clients who have been waiting and watching for months and are very anxious to find a home! I have come up with a workaround for now using shortcuts for iOS, but I still have to go to my email to see any information about the listing. I don't know if there is a way to request new features for the app, but this is one I would love! - Apr 25, 2023
  • My question is about how to get a push noitifcation or a text. I am already setting up auto notification by email in MLS. - Nov 30, 2022

Our CRM sends push notifications. If you are a platinum member you can send them your branded HAR app and that does push

Set-up a saved search on MLS and for frequency of emails check ASAP. You should receive an email notice within 10-min of a property matching your criteria, going on the market or whatever status changes you request notifications for.

Why don't you set up a saved search with auto-email for your client with the subdivision preferences from the Member's Portal? If the initial number of homes is excessive, you can opt out of that sharing. If you want to tweak what they will be sent to eliminate homes that won't work, set yourself up for the auto-search, so you can review and tweak what your client receives.

Good Question! I've never tried push notifications. I would reach out to the HAR technology department to let them know what's happening. They might be able to troubleshoot it.
