First time home buyer feeling completely overwhelmed... need help taking the leap of faith!

Hello!
My apartment lease will be up in 3 months and I'm looking for a more permanent place to call home. I've done my homework but feel the more I learn the more I don't know! I believe I have all my ducks in a row in regards to my financial situation: I have worked to pay all credit cards down to zero and achieved a credit score around 700. I have also just recently paid off my car so the only debt I currently have is a student loan. While paying down this debt I also managed to save around $15k, not sure if that is adequate enough for a down payment.

I think I have an idea of the type of house and area I'm looking for but I could use recommendations for a very patient "Buyer's Agent" for the criteria below. Sorry for the long post but thanks for any advice or input provided!!
Area: Med Center South, Central Southwest, Southbelt/Ellington, N. Pearland
Property Type: Single Family Homes
Price 150000-215000
Beds Min 4
Garages 2
Lot (sqft) Min 1800

Fernando. Sounds like you have a good grasp of your finances. Important to square away before you start looking for a home. Next step is hiring a Realtor. But how? Several ways to go about doing this. Some of the most reliable sources to find a good Realtor might be your friends and family. Of course look on-line and see if you notice Realtor posting in areas your looking in. Experienced Realtors should have plenty of posting on multiple web sites including HAR, Realtor.com, Zillow, Trulia and more. Ask if they have an ABR (accredited buyer representative) designation! Notice reviews, web sites, etc. Finally, interview a few of the Realtors to see if their personalities match yours. Do they work the area of town you want to be in? Do they have time to assist you? Experienced with first time Buyers? A lot of information, but a lot to think about. Let us know if we can help you. Happy House Hunting!

Congratulations on making the smart decision to buy your own home. You have definitely done your homework! It's great that you have a high credit score and saved up money for your down payment. You will also need money for your closing costs, although this may be negotiated when you make an offer.

Working with a buyer's agent will definitely be a great help. You should not feel overwhelmed. Finding the right home is the fun part!
