I am a recent graduate and I will be relocating to Houston, TX in July. I am interested in purchasing a home but I do not know where to start (i.e. price range, location etc.) I am from Virginia so my current location makes it a little more difficult for me to search for places. Any tips on where I should start? Any tips, advice or encouragement will be greatly appreciated!!!

Wonderful question! I believe this is one of the most common questions that I've received over the last 10 years! ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS start with a local realtor! This will be your guide to not only the areas and homes, but more importantly to the processes and market navigation in general! They will also typically have referrals to other KEY professionals who you'll need along your journey (Lenders, Title companies, Inspectors, Appraisers, etc.)! We navigate out of town buyers seamlessly with the use of virtual tours until the buyer is able to make the trip down here to view in person, and we have become quite fantastic at this as the years have gone by and we have dealt with ample relocating new Houstonians! Please feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have about all things real estate related! codysellsproperty@gmail.com (346) 412-6603

The first thing you will want to do is get pre-qualified for a mortgage. Once you know what you are qualified to buy and what your payments will be, you can start looking for homes in areas that are convenient for you and have homes in that price range. Generally, a buyers agent represent you will not cost you anything because the seller's on MLS have agreed to pay the buyer's agent's commission. A buyer's agent will have a fiduciary duty to you and can make your search easier and more efficient.
Best of Luck!

The first thing you will do is contact a full time realtor to discuss your needs, timeframe and desires in a home. The realtor will then help you get prequalified for a mortgage and will give you several suggestions of lenders. the right agent to help you is the Key! You can look on HAR for client service ratings or call me for a suggestion on an agent in the area you are looking to purchase.
