MMHPI Veterans and Families Symposium

Transforming the Way We Meet the Mental Health Needs of Veterans and Their Families through Collaboration, Technology, and by Challenging Our Assumptions The Veterans and Families full-day Symposium will focus on how we can transform the way we meet the mental health needs of veterans and their families by increasing collaboration and leveraging technology. The symposium will feature subject matter experts and keynote speakers sharing insights and data about the implications of national and state programs and their effect on Texas veterans. Through the generous sponsorship of the Hersh Foundation, we are able to offer this event at no cost. Seats are limited and registration is required to guarantee a seat.  This full day of programming includes: Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen, Executive Director of the President's Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End a National Tragedy of Suicide (PREVENTS) Task Force Representative Dan Flynn, Chair of the Texas House Committee on Defense and Veterans Affairs Panel on community building and collaboration through the Texas Veterans + Family Alliance grant program Panels on state and local efforts to address veteran suicide and on leveraging technology to address suicide The event will take place in the Hill Country Ballroom.
