As a previous owner/operator in the restaurant business for 28 years, working his way all the way from busboy status at a young age, Jarrett Collins has proved to be tenacious, self-sufficient and capable in every way. It was that same steadfast spirit that drove him to go back and complete his college degree after a 15-year hiatus. Jarrett’s can-do, make-it-happen attitude has served him well and is one of the greatest assets he brings to every real estate transaction.
Influenced by the enormous success of his Realtor sister – top producer and human dynamo Tammy Hendricks, who invited him to join her team – Jarrett was ultimately drawn to a career in real estate. She believed his diligence, thoroughness and strong organizational skills would complement her spunk, drive and high energy and make him a valued member of the team.
Born in Alexandria, Louisiana to a family that moved a lot, Jarrett lived in New Orleans and London, England, all before 3rd grade. After growing up in Northwest Houston, he moved to Denver where he lived for 14 years before returning to Houston in 2006. Being no stranger to relocation, he has a profound appreciation for the needs of moving buyers and sellers and is able to connect with clients in a very personal way.
He believes that developing a friendly rapport and putting their interests as his top priority during their home search or sale makes for a more friendly connection and enhances their ability to make informed decisions in a less stressful atmosphere. Listening is the most critical part of his business and he makes sure that open communication is the norm rather than the exception. No matter how large or small, each real estate transaction and client is his top priority.
A devoted family man, Jarrett jokes that he “stole” his wife, Janelle, from Colorado in their move to Texas, but acknowledges that she loves it here. Janelle is an All Star Director for Spring Creek Athletics Cheer Gym, and their teenaged daughter, Kendall, is a competition cheerleader at her mom’s gym. Meanwhile, Jarrett volunteers with their son Hunter’s baseball and football teams.
Recently asked to describe himself, Jarrett’s answer is what distinguishes him best, as a husband, a father, a brother, a businessman and a Realtor: “People can count on me.”
