Sealing the Deal (Part 1) - Contracts for Your New Client
This class meets the 3 hour TREC contracts requirement for your license renewal.
Formerly titled Contracts 101A, this course is a hands-on workshop and centers on the Residential Listing Agreement Exclusive Right to Sell and the Buyer-Tenant Representation agreement, along with explanations of customary addenda, notices and information forms for each. Students will work in phases for both buyers and sellers, beginning with the initial interview, completing the agreements (including negotiating sensitive items), explaining the Information About Brokerage form, explaining intermediary, and presenting a plan on how to proceed. The phases will be studied and completed sequentially, with time to discuss and debrief in between. Forms included in this class are:
- Residential Listing Agreement Exclusive Right to Sell
- Buyer-Tenant Representation Agreement
- Addenda, Notices, and Information forms for each
The class will cover each paragraph to be sure the student can explain it (without practicing law without a license). Each fill-in-the-blank will be covered, along with how the agent can be sure the information is correct.
