“DeAnna initially came to me referred by her cousin who is a commercial REA. She was very positive that I would sell my house quickly due to very active market where sellers were receiving amounts well over the asking prices. 5 months later and having to decrease my selling price multiple times, my house was still not sold. In the meantime, DeAnna insisted that I get a survey and an appraisal. The appraisal had no bearing on the sale price because it came back $50,000 over the price it was then listed at. $400 of my money wasted... Over the 5 months, I only had one offer which we countered and they backed out of the deal. In the meantime, an investor had purchased 40 acres behind my house and began clearing out all of the land. DeAnna was unable to find any details about what was to be developed and thus, we couldn’t answer any questions potential interested parties for my property had. In October I received a cash offer for my house and I asked DeAnna to counter the offer as it was well below the asking price. She said, “Remember what happened last time. They backed out of the deal. I don’t think it’s a good idea.” She advised me to take the deal. On the day of closing, I was forced to pay $1,000.00 to remove permanent playground structures, etc in order for the buyer to close. These structures should have been included in the description of the sale of my property! Now comes the fishy part. On the original paperwork the buyer signed “Francisco Brown or assigns”. Once the deal was finalized, the buyer’s signature now says “Timothy P Crawford” who just happens to be the investor who is clearing the property behind my house for commercial development. Was DeAnna aware of this? I’m pretty sure she was. I feel completely screwed over because it really was a commercial sale and I should have gotten a significantly larger sum for the sale of my house. No, I definitely would not recommend DeAnna Leopold. She is does not look out for the sellers best interests.”
