HOUSTON — (August 4, 2016) — The Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) has announced a new live chat feature inside the HAR mobile app (www.har.com/mobile) that enables better communication between consumers and agent. The feature is part of an ongoing effort by HAR to not only facilitate Realtor and consumer communication, but to do it in such a way as few have ever been able.
The new chat feature is currently available to all MLS subscribers who have the most recent version of the HAR mobile app installed on their mobile devices. Consumers can tap on the Chat icon on the profile page of any agent or MLS subscriber to start a conversation. Similarly, consumers will be able to start a conversation with an agent directly from their listing detail page. An agent-to-agent conversation feature is also available and will be specially marked in the agent’s chat list.
Real estate professionals also have the ability to display their available work hours and when they are available to accept chat requests about their listings. A Do Not Disturb feature will prevent the agent from receiving chat notifications while toggled, but will still accept messages through the app.
“Our mission with this feature was to enable faster communication between consumers and Realtors,” HAR Chief Technology Officer Taqi Rizvi said. “Chat is instant and it’s familiar. HAR is a leader in this field and we’re committed to providing this essential service to our members.”
The HAR mobile app is currently available on the Apple App Store and Google Play store for Android devices.
