HOUSTON — (March 28, 2016) — The Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) Board of Directors is pleased to announce its decision to support Mary Joyce for Sugar Land City Council At-Large Position 2 in the Saturday, May 7 Election. Tina Wilcher, the 2016 HAR Political Affairs Advisory Leadership (PAAL) Chair, applauded the announcement. “Mary Joyce is an enthusiastic, longtime Sugar Land resident who is involved in the Sugar Land community,” said Wilcher. “She is committed to maintaining a strong community and preserving the character of Sugar Land. Mary Joyce supports careful handling of mobility issues and appropriating land use. She examines growth patterns, proposed developments, and taxation to insure that it will have a positive effect on Sugar Land residents. The REALTOR® Party supports Mary Joyce for Sugar land At-Large Position 2.”
Jo Ann Stevens, a member of the Fort Bend PAAL and 2016 TREPAC Trustee, also praised the recommendation. “Mary Joyce is the kind of candidate who is eager to understand issues affecting home ownership and is interested in the Realtors®’ point of view,” said Stevens.

The deadline to register to vote in the Saturday, May 7 Election is Thursday, April 7. Early voting runs from Monday, April 25 to Tuesday, May 3.
