Morton Ranch Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps. Zelma Hutsell Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Zelma Hutsell Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 67.60% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (23.00%), African Americans (5.59%), Two or More Races (3.43%) and Asians (0.25%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
At Morton Ranch Elementary School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 60.48% of student population, followed by African Americans (21.50%), Whites or Caucasians (9.52%), Asians (4.76%), Two or More Races (3.20%) and Native Americans (0.46%).
Based on household incomes, Zelma Hutsell Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly higher at 71.66% compared to 68.07% at Morton Ranch Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Zelma Hutsell Elementary School has 364 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 46.25% of student population. Morton Ranch Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 557 or about 50.96% of student population.
Zelma Hutsell Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 46.25%, gifted and talented students, 2.54%, while 21.35% are in the special education program.
