Tijerina Elementary School's one out of seven distinction is in post-secondary. Halpin Early Childhood Ctr did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Tijerina Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 98.18% of student population, followed by African Americans (1.22%) and Whites or Caucasians (0.61%). There is no Asians, Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
At Halpin Early Childhood Ctr, Hispanics make up 75.43% of student population, followed by African Americans (22.14%), Whites or Caucasians (1.22%), Asians (0.97%) and Two or More Races (0.24%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Tijerina Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 98.48% compared to 99.27% at Halpin Early Childhood Ctr.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Tijerina Elementary School has 202 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 61.40% of student population. Halpin Early Childhood Ctr has significantly more ELLs at 266 or about 64.72% of student population.
Tijerina Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 61.40%, gifted and talented students, 4.86%, while 16.11% are in the special education program.
