It is in this area where the two schools differ. Sutton Elementary School’s two out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics and with 25% student progress. Wharton K-8 Dual Language Academy's four out of seven distinctions are in Mathematics, Science, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on household incomes, Sutton Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 94.84% compared to 46.71% at Wharton K-8 Dual Language Academy.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Sutton Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 73.91% of its student population compared to 44.41% at Wharton K-8 Dual Language Academy.
In addition, Sutton Elementary School has 73.02% bilingual students, 6.25% are in the gifted and talented program, while 8.04% are in the special education program.
