It is in this area where the two schools differ. Summitt Elementary School's three out of seven distinctions are in Science, post-secondary and with 25% student progress. Blackshear Elementary School’s only distinction designation is in Comparative Academic Growth.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Summitt Elementary School. They make up for 42.54% of student population, followed by Asians (24.56%), Hispanics (22.51%), Two or More Races (7.02%) and African Americans (3.22%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

Based on household incomes, the Summitt Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 31.43% compared to 56.45% at Blackshear Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Summitt Elementary School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 29.82% of its student population compared to 11.15% at Blackshear Elementary School.
