Sterling High School’s regular student population is 1,606 with a student-teacher ratio of 19.7 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Energized For Stem Academy High School is 653 students and a student-teacher ratio of students/teacher ratio.
Sterling High School earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 70 in student achievement, 79 in school progress and 73 in closing performance gaps. Energized For Stem Academy High School's seven out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Sterling High School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Sterling High School. They make up for 49.19% of student population, followed by African Americans (48.51%), Whites or Caucasians (1.25%), Asians (0.56%), Two or More Races (0.44%) and Native Americans (0.06%).
At Energized For Stem Academy High School, Hispanics make up 94.03% of student population, followed by African Americans (3.52%), Asians (1.53%) and Whites or Caucasians (0.92%). There is no Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Sterling High School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 90.10% compared to 98.47% at Energized For Stem Academy High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Sterling High School has 398 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 24.78% of student population. Energized For Stem Academy High School has significantly more ELLs at 424 or about 64.93% of student population.
Sterling High School’s bilingual students comprise 20.30%, gifted and talented students, 6.29%, while 13.26% are in the special education program. Energized For Stem Academy High School bilingual students comprise 64.17%, gifted and talented students, 6.13%, and 2.76% are in the special education program.
