When we compared Sienna Crossing Elementary School, which is a part of FORT BEND ISD, with Ridgemont Early Literacy Center, which is a part of FORT BEND ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Sienna Crossing Elementary School has a regular student population of 942 with a 15.5 students/teacher ratio while Ridgemont Early Literacy Center has 474 students and a student-teacher ratio of 9.3 students/teacher ratio.
Sienna Crossing Elementary School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 94 in student achievement, 94 in school progress and an impressive100 in closing performance gaps. It scored 96 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.
On the other hand, Ridgemont Early Literacy Center earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted only 89 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Sienna Crossing Elementary School's five out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. Ridgemont Early Literacy Center did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Sienna Crossing Elementary School. They make up for 38.43% of student population, followed by Asians (21.44%), Hispanics (16.35%), African Americans (16.24%), Two or More Races (6.69%) and Native Americans (0.64%).
At Ridgemont Early Literacy Center, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 60.55% of student population, followed by African Americans (34.60%), Whites or Caucasians (2.32%), Two or More Races (1.69%) and Native Americans (0.63%). There is no Asians student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Sienna Crossing Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 14.44% compared to 93.04% at Ridgemont Early Literacy Center.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Sienna Crossing Elementary School has 87 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 9.24% of student population. Ridgemont Early Literacy Center has significantly more ELLs at 223 or about 47.05% of student population.
Sienna Crossing Elementary School 10.72% are in the special education program, 5.10% are in the gifted and talented program, and bilingual students comprise 8.92% students. Ridgemont Early Literacy Center has no gifted and talented student, while 7.17% are in the special education program, and bilingual students comprise 44.94% students.
