Seven Lakes High School’s regular student population is 3,581 with a student-teacher ratio of 17.6 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Taylor High School is 3,038 students and a student-teacher ratio of 17.1 students/teacher ratio.
Seven Lakes High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 96 in student achievement, 91 in school progress and 98 in closing performance gaps. It scored 97 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.
On the other hand, Taylor High School also performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 92 in student achievement, 88 in school progress, 96 in closing performance gaps and 93 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Both schools garnered only six distinction designations or awards for outstanding performance. These are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Seven Lakes High School. They make up for 35.66% of student population, followed by Asians (29.94%), Hispanics (24.18%), African Americans (7.20%), Two or More Races (2.74%) and Native Americans (0.17%).
The student population at Taylor High School is also predominantly by Whites or Caucasians at 40.39%, followed by Hispanics (29.33%), Asians (15.44%), African Americans (10.30%), Two or More Races (4.15%) and Native Americans (0.23%).
Based on household incomes, the Seven Lakes High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 18.12% compared to 35.71% at Taylor High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Seven Lakes High School has 236 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 6.59% of student population. Taylor High School has significantly more ELLs at 304 or about 10.01% of student population.
Seven Lakes High School’s bilingual students comprise 6.34%, gifted and talented students, 19.02%, while 7.09% are in the special education program. Taylor High School bilingual students comprise 9.35%, gifted and talented students, 11.72%, and 10.01% are in the special education program.
Seven Lakes High School's 203 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 7.9 years with individual teaching experience averaging nearly 13.4 years. Taylor High School's 177 teachers have been working at the campus for an average of 7.8 years with individual teaching experience averaging close to 13.9 years.
Of its teaching staff, Seven Lakes High School has nine teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 37 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 70 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 37 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 42 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including ten beginning teachers. Taylor High School has seven teachers serving the school for over 30 years, has 35 teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 58 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 42 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 31 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including four beginning teachers.
In both schools, female teachers outnumber the male teachers. Seven Lakes High School employs 125 female teachers and 78 male teachers. Of its teaching staff, 19 special education teachers are being assisted by 27 teachers aides or paraprofessionals. The school also employs nine staff members in the school administration department and 24 more working as school support staff.
On the other hand, Taylor High School employs 103 female teachers and 74 male teachers.
