Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Rummel Creek Elementary School, which is a part of SPRING BRANCH ISD, with Treasure Forest Elementary School, which is a part of SPRING BRANCH ISD, we noted a big difference in ratings.
Rummel Creek Elementary School has a regular student population of 811 with a 17.4 students/teacher ratio while Treasure Forest Elementary School has 429 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13.2 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Rummel Creek Elementary School and Treasure Forest Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Rummel Creek Elementary School. They make up for 60.67% of student population, followed by Hispanics (17.02%), Asians (15.66%), Two or More Races (5.18%), African Americans (1.36%) and Native Americans (0.12%).
At Treasure Forest Elementary School, Hispanics make up 90.21% of student population, followed by African Americans (7.69%), Whites or Caucasians (1.86%) and Native Americans (0.23%). There is no Asians and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Rummel Creek Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 5.67% compared to 96.97% at Treasure Forest Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Rummel Creek Elementary School has 120 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 14.80% of student population. Treasure Forest Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 316 or about 73.66% of student population.
Rummel Creek Elementary School’s bilingual students comprise 14.43%, gifted and talented students, 16.40%, while 9.74% are in the special education program. Treasure Forest Elementary School bilingual students comprise 73.19%, gifted and talented students, 3.50%, and 15.85% are in the special education program.
