N Garland High School’s regular student population is 2,750 with a student-teacher ratio of 17.5 students/teacher ratio. The student population at S Garland High School is 2,157 students and a student-teacher ratio of 16.2 students/teacher ratio.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
N Garland High School's seven out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps. S Garland High School did not earn any distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at N Garland High School. They make up for 55.35% of student population, followed by Asians (20.73%), African Americans (12.18%), Whites or Caucasians (9.82%), Two or More Races (1.20%) and Native Americans (0.73%).
At S Garland High School, Hispanics make up 79.14% of student population, followed by African Americans (13.21%), Whites or Caucasians (3.99%), Asians (1.85%), Two or More Races (1.34%) and Native Americans (0.46%).
Based on household incomes, the N Garland High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 72.44% compared to 87.95% at S Garland High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, N Garland High School has 768 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 27.93% of student population. S Garland High School has significantly more ELLs at 1045 or about 48.45% of student population.
N Garland High School’s bilingual students comprise 25.78%, gifted and talented students, 17.67%, while 5.20% are in the special education program. S Garland High School bilingual students comprise 45.80%, gifted and talented students, 2.36%, and 9.41% are in the special education program.
