When we compared Miller Elementary School, which is a part of ARLINGTON ISD, with Adams Elementary School, which is a part of ARLINGTON ISD, we noted a huge gap in ratings.
Miller Elementary School has a regular student population of 598 with a 14.4 students/teacher ratio while Adams Elementary School has 754 students and a student-teacher ratio of 16.3 students/teacher ratio.

Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 64 in student achievement, 70 in school progress and 68 in closing performance gaps. It scored 69 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.
On the other hand, Adams Elementary School earned a State accountability rating of C. The school posted 67 in student achievement, 80 in school progress, 72 in closing performance gaps and 78 overall in post-secondary readiness.
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Adams Elementary School's one out of seven distinction is in Science. Miller Elementary School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, African Americans comprise the biggest group at Miller Elementary School. They make up for 32.78% of student population, followed by Hispanics (29.77%), Whites or Caucasians (27.26%), Asians (6.19%), Two or More Races (3.51%) and Native Americans (0.33%).
The student population at Adams Elementary School is also predominantly by Hispanics at 46.68%, followed by African Americans (34.75%), Asians (12.47%), Whites or Caucasians (5.57%) and Two or More Races (0.40%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Miller Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 69.06% compared to 91.78% at Adams Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Miller Elementary School has 84 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 14.05% of student population. Adams Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 350 or about 46.42% of student population.
In addition, Miller Elementary School has 14.05% bilingual students, 7.69% are in the gifted and talented program, while 16.72% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Adams Elementary School with 46.29% bilingual students, 10.21% gifted and talented students and 9.15% students in the special education program.
