We are making this task easier for you by comparing two excellent high schools: Mcneil High School and Round Rock High School. We compiled relevant data for you to be able to make an informed decision. Both schools are under the jurisdiction of the Round Rock ISD.

Mcneil High School’s regular student population is two with a student-teacher ratio of 15.6 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Round Rock High School is three students and a student-teacher ratio of 16.7 students/teacher ratio.
Performance Indicators
Mcneil High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 94 in student achievement, 86 in school progress, and 80 in closing performance gaps. It scored 90 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

Distinction Designations
A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Mcneil High School’s four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science and post-secondary. Round Rock High School’s two out of seven distinctions are in post-secondary and 25% closing performance gaps.

Student Demographics
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Mcneil High School. They make up for 37.30% of student population, followed by Hispanics (26.15%), Asians (19.90%), African Americans (12.79%), Two or More Races (3.25%) and Native Americans (0.49%).

The student population at Round Rock High School is also predominantly Whites or Caucasians at 52.90%, followed by Hispanics (24.91%), Asians (12.80%), African Americans (5.68%), Two or More Races (3.03%) and Native Americans (0.40%).
