Looscan Elementary School has a regular student population of 227 with a 13.2 students/teacher ratio while Frost Elementary School has 527 students and a student-teacher ratio of 18.8 students/teacher ratio.
Looscan Elementary School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Distinction Designations for Looscan Elementary School and Frost Elementary School are not applicable as neither one earned a recognition for outstanding achievement in seven categories.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, the dominant group in Looscan Elementary School is Hispanics who make up nearly 96.48% of student population, followed by African Americans (2.64%) and Whites or Caucasians (0.88%). There is no Asians, Native Americans and Two or More Racesstudents in the school.
At Frost Elementary School, African Americans make up 68.88% of student population, followed by Hispanics (29.41%), Two or More Races (0.76%), Whites or Caucasians (0.57%) and Asians (0.38%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.
Based on household incomes, the Looscan Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is lower at 95.59% compared to 98.48% at Frost Elementary School.

Frost Elementary School has more ELLs at 99 or about 18.79% of student population.
In addition, Looscan Elementary School has 40.09% bilingual students, 3.52% are in the gifted and talented program, while 10.57% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Frost Elementary School with 18.03% bilingual students, 4.93% gifted and talented students and 6.83% students in the special education program.
