When we compared Knox Junior High School, which is a part of CONROE ISD, with Moorhead Junior High School, which is a part of CONROE ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.
Knox Junior High School’s regular student population is 1,378 with a 18.1 students/teacher ratio. The student population at Moorhead Junior High School is 1,298 students and a 15 students/teacher ratio.
Knox Junior High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 92 in student achievement, 86 in school progress and 89 in closing performance gaps. It scored 91 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
Moorhead Junior High School's one out of seven distinction is in Social Studies. Knox Junior High School has no distinction.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at Knox Junior High School. They make up for 50.44% of student population, followed by Hispanics (28.37%), African Americans (9.29%), Asians (6.53%), Two or More Races (4.50%) and Native Americans (0.58%).
At Moorhead Junior High School, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 65.41% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (31.20%), African Americans (1.77%), Two or More Races (0.77%), Native Americans (0.62%) and Asians (0.23%).
Based on household incomes, the Knox Junior High School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly lower at 28.23% compared to 76.19% at Moorhead Junior High School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Knox Junior High School has 135 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 9.80% of student population. Moorhead Junior High School has significantly more ELLs at 486 or about 37.44% of student population.
Knox Junior High School’s bilingual students comprise 9.72%, gifted and talented students, 15.46%, while 7.26% are in the special education program. Moorhead Junior High School bilingual students comprise 35.36%, gifted and talented students, 4.85%, and 10.09% are in the special education program.
